PearlHack


PearlHack 4.0 is an idea hackathon organized in conjunction with ICARC 2026, open to all female undergraduates across the island. Centered around the theme “Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development,” this virtual event invites participants to develop innovative solutions aimed at enhancing user engagement, enthusiasm, and exploration.
The hackathon will be conducted under the guidelines set forth by the organizing committee and overseen by a distinguished panel of judges.
The primary goal of PearlHack 4.0 is to empower female undergraduates by fostering creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, and encouraging them to become future innovators. Additionally, the event will provide participants with exposure to cutting-edge topics such as “Responsible AGI: Balancing Intelligence, Responsibility, and Sustainability,” inspiring them to contribute to a better and more sustainable world through impactful discoveries.

This theme explores the unique challenges women face in rising to leadership positions within the AI landscape, as well as the responsibilities they bear in ensuring that this transformative technology serves humanity with fairness, transparency, and sustainability.
The speech will reflect on how women can:

  • Navigate structural and cultural barriers in tech and research ecosystems,
  • Champion responsible AI development, balancing innovation with ethics,
  • Inspire future generations of women to lead with confidence and compassion.

In today’s fast-paced, tech-driven world, innovation is reshaping every aspect of our lives from healthcare and education to climate action and space exploration. Women have the power to lead this transformation, yet their presence in emerging technology sectors still faces barriers.
This session is designed to ignite the innovative spirit of women in science, technology, and engineering by exploring key questions:
  • How can women leverage their unique perspectives to lead innovation in fields like AI, quantum computing, biotech, and sustainable tech?
  • What systemic challenges hinder their participation and how can we break these barriers?
  • How can female scientists and engineers position themselves as pioneers in research, startups, and industry?
  • What role does mentorship, networking, and inclusive policy-making play in shaping an innovation-friendly ecosystem?
Participants will learn how to build confidence, seize leadership opportunities, and drive impact through innovation. Through case studies, strategic tools, and real-world insights, the session will empower the next generation of female trailblazers to leave their mark on the world of emerging technologies.
